Finance Project Analyst (12 month fixed term contract)

132870

Location: Douglas, Isle of Man

Closing date for applications: 28th April 2026

The opportunity:

We’re looking for an experienced finance professional to play a key role in our SAP system upgrade programme on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Joining our Finance Transformation team, you’ll work closely with managers and established business‑as‑usual (BAU) teams across Finance and Operations to help deliver critical system testing, enhancements, and process improvements.

This is a hands‑on role where your expertise will directly contribute to the successful delivery of a major transformation initiative, while also identifying opportunities to improve and automate day‑to‑day finance processes.

What you’ll be doing:

SAP System Upgrade

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure local system needs are aligned with the Zurich Group SAP upgrade rollout.
  • Identify, track, and close any gaps between Group‑defined testing and locally required business unit testing.
  • Coordinate Finance‑related User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with BAU teams, overseeing issue management and resolution.
  • Support data validation, SAP functionality testing, and reconciliation activities.
  • Act as the Finance Subject Matter Expert, working closely with the Project Manager to manage milestones and deliverables linked to the SAP upgrade.
  • Collaborate with the SAP delivery team, providing timely updates on UAT progress and clearly highlighting risks, challenges, and support requirements.

Continuous Improvement & Automation

  • Work alongside Transformation and BAU teams to deliver improvements and automation across existing finance processes.
  • Analyse and recommend process improvements in line with established change control frameworks.
  • Engage with finance teams and wider operational stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Support the SAP delivery team with the implementation of agreed solutions.

Your skills and experience:

  • You’ll bring a combination of strong financial knowledge, systems experience, and a proactive approach to change.
  • Proven experience in a finance analyst or similar role, with exposure to testing and change initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems and core accounting processes and controls, including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Previous SAP experience in a finance role is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience supporting process improvement, system change, and automation initiatives.
  • Strong PC skills, including good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across teams.
  • Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently while also contributing as part of a collaborative team.
  • Experience working within, or alongside, life insurance organisations is advantageous but not essential.
